In the Spirit of Zen

(Summary from various exhibition texts)

The exhibition “In the spirit of Zen” is dedicated to the combination of movement and stillness, liveliness and contemplation. At the center of the works is the attempt to capture the present moment in its volatile, dynamic and at the same time calm dimension. With expressive brushwork and deliberate reduction, she succeeds in creating scenes that radiate a deep inner calm despite their liveliness.

The artworks are characterized by minimalist techniques, inspired by Japanese ink painting and the philosophy of Zen. Omitted details, left-out areas of color and loose brushstrokes stimulate the viewer's imagination and invite them to complete the incomplete with their own imagination. These deliberately chosen stylistic devices give the works room to breathe and create a transparent freshness in which the invisible dimension behind the forms shines through - the mystery from which all phenomena emerge.

At the same time, the series pays homage to ancient Japan, which embodies the spirit of Zen like no other country. Motifs from nature and traditional life reflect this aesthetic and combine it with a meditative depth. Despite the seemingly simple complex: calm stillness and dynamic movement merge into a harmonious unity. merge into a harmonious unity that dissolves the contrast between opposites.

A central concern of the exhibition is to go beyond the visible and open up a level of sensory perception. The works invite viewers to embark on an inner journey and reflect on the question: can the spirit of Zen - that living silence - be transferred to us through art?

“Living Silence: In the Spirit of Zen” is more than a visual experience. It is an invitation to sharpen our own perception, to experience the present moment and to discover the unity of movement and stillness. movement and stillness. It is a journey to the origins of being, a dialog between art and viewer, between form and emptiness, which has the potential to create a deep inner resonance.
