A Picturesque Journey through the Unknown

With the *Fictional Worlds* series, Christian Evers creates places beyond the familiar - landscapes that hover between dream, fantasy and filmic staging. They do not exist in our reality and yet they seem strangely familiar, as if they have emerged from the deepest layers of our subconscious. Archaic and timeless at the same time, they unfold an atmosphere that moves between the earthly and the extraterrestrial. The compositions are characterized by monumental rock formations and a peculiar lighting mood that gives the impression of being on an alien planet. The works trigger ambivalent feelings: For some viewers, they radiate a meditative calm, a place of peace and reflexion. For others, they seem tense, mysterious, perhaps even threatening - as if standing on the threshold of an unknown world, unsure whether to enter or turn back.

The Language of the Rocks - a Symbol of Time and Permanence

Stones and rocks play a central role in Evers' work. They are not merely elements of the landscape, but independent protagonists with individual characteristics. Their massive, almost awe-inspiring presence embodies strength and permanence, while their timeless existence conveys a sense of eternity. Yet they too are subject to change, are shaped by time and the forces of nature, decay and eventually disappear. Evers captures their essence in his paintings: Through a distinctive interplay of light and shadow and the deliberate use of perspective, he emphasizes their physicality. The rocks appear alive - almost like ancient beings, silently preserving their stories. They are not only a backdrop, but also a reflection of human existence: firmly rooted and yet subject to transience.

Exploring the Unknown - An Inner Journey

The works in this series invite you to embark on a journey into the unknown. Like an astronaut entering unknown territory, the viewer is challenged to approach these alien landscapes. But it is not just about outer worlds - the pictures also serve as gateways to one's own inner landscape. They invite us to confront the strangeness, to allow uncertainties and to explore hidden emotions. The seemingly threatening places can be transformed into spaces of insight and inner peace if you open yourself up to them . It is a journey that requirescourage - a walk into the unknown that may ultimately enable a deeper connection with one's own self.

Planetary Atmospheres - The Structure of the Series

*Fictional Worlds* is divided into several sub-series, which are distinguished from one another by their different colors and moods. Each group of works simulates a stay on a different planet - with its own atmosphere, energy and world of light. Surreal narrative fragments appear here and there, subtle traces of stories that can never be fully deciphered. Subtle symbolism opens up spaces of association, but Evers refuses to give a clear interpretation. Instead, it is up to the viewer to enter this world, to lose themselves in it or to discover new levels of meaning.
